SER-Tuottajayhteisö ry (SERTY - Society of WEEE Producers) or SERTY is a society that was set up to look after the recycling of home technology in all of Finland.
Recycle home technology free of charge
Thanks to the recycling system the consumers can return their old home appliances and electronic equipment free of charge to the collection points organised by SERTY. You can return any electrical and electronic equipment to the collection point, from refrigerators to washing machines and from television sets to coffee makers.
Legislation and waste management
The nation-wide recycling of home technology is based on legislation: The WEEE directive issued on waste electrical and electronic equipment transferred the responsibility of the municipalities for waste management of home technology to the importers and manufacturers of the products.

Financing of the recycling has been built into the price of the product you purchase
The producers finance the costs of the collection and treatment of the product by way of a WEEE recycling fee. The recycling fee varies between 1–18 euros.
