New life for old household appliances
SER-tuottajayhteisö ry
The association of electric and electronic equipment manufacturers and importers, SERTY, manages the collection and recycling of waste electric and electronic equipment (WEEE) on behalf of its members in Finland.
The operations of SERTY and the national recycling of household appliances are based on Finnish legislation: according to the Government Decree on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Valtioneuvoston asetus sähkö- ja elektroniikkalaiteromusta), no. 852 of 2004, the importers and manufacturers of household appliances are responsible for their waste management.
Consumers may return old household appliances at the designated collection points without charge. You can check the nearest collection point in Finland by consulting www.kierratys.info.
